Title:  Officer, Forex & Derivative Operations 1

Job Type:  Maximum Term - Full Time

Location: Sydney Australia | Reports to: Manager, FX & Derivative Operations

 

This a fixed term contract. 

 

Purpose:

The purpose of the position is to perform daily settlement operations for all Foreign Exchange (“FX”) and Derivatives transactions and to provide vital support to the numerous front offices and to our corporate counterparties. The role includes preparation duties.

 

Core responsibilities of the role are:

  • Processing of all transactions in accordance with market practice and internal requirements
  • Co-ordinate with internal departments for related transactions and issues
  • Review bank reconciliations and perform investigations on outstanding items
  • Identify any transaction discrepancies and resolve immediately and effectively
  • Provide quality service to internal/external clients
  • Ensure maintenance of static data e.g. corporate and interbank SSI’s
  • Undertake cross training to provide effective backup within other areas of OPD

Required experience, skills or qualifications:

  • Good understanding of Treasury products and the confirmation and settlement process with at least 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Tertiary Qualification (preferred but not essential )
  • Payment systems knowledge and experience e.g. SWIFT
  • Computer literacy/PC skills e.g. MS Office applications
  • Good numerical reasoning and analytical skills
  • Well organised with high accuracy levels and attention to detail
  • Proactive and able to identify and resolve errors and discrepancies
